Advisory
& Education

The Vault Institute offers two ways to work with institutional teams. Education sessions build a working understanding of digital asset infrastructure and the regulatory landscape that surrounds it. The Advisory engagement goes further, designing the specific infrastructure your business needs and producing a plan you own.

Education Day

We treat education as part of how this market matures, so we run on-site education days for companies entering digital assets or re-evaluating their current setup.

In a single session, your team gains a clear introduction to digital asset infrastructure and the security considerations relevant to your business, a working overview of the regulatory landscape that applies to your jurisdiction and business model, and a framework for evaluating any infrastructure provider, ours included: the questions to ask, the answers to expect, and the signals to watch for.

Advisory

A structured engagement to design the infrastructure your business actually needs

Over four to six weeks, our team works alongside yours through four phases, drawing on analysis, architecture and independent validation to produce a plan you own and can act on immediately. Each phase builds on the one before it, from scoping and mapping through to design, so the result reflects how your business actually operates rather than a template.

03 Advisory: The four phases
01 Scoping

Understand how your business truly operates, beyond the formal picture

We begin with a structured conversation to understand your current position: the digital assets you already hold and how far your operations are digitised, the digital asset products and the level of security, control and complexity you are aiming for, and the shape of your organisation across jurisdictions, user types and internal team composition. This high-level picture is what lets us scope an engagement built around your situation rather than a template.

Who is in the room

C-suite (CFO, COO, CTO); security architects, DevOps and CISO; compliance; operators and product leadership.

What we produce

A shared, validated picture of your constraints, intent and decision-making.

What we ask for

Where available, deployment diagrams, technical descriptions, infrastructure maps, server specifications and cloud partners.

02 Mapping

Document the current state in three artefacts both sides can agree on

We capture how your organisation works today and what it genuinely demands from its infrastructure, building an objective baseline for design.

What we map

an organisational map of how digital asset decisions get made; an architecture map of your existing infrastructure today; a specification map of what the business truly needs.

What we produce

An agreed, evidence-based baseline of where you are and what you require.

03 Design

Design a modular target architecture built around your operational requirements across custody, compliance, treasury and reporting

From the artefacts, we identify gaps, risks and integration surfaces, then design the target architecture across every layer: the custody solution, transaction monitoring and KYT, KYC and KYB, the choice between on-premise and hosted infrastructure, back office and back-end, wallet features and the front-end, whether a standalone application or an integration into your existing app with a mobile SDK where needed. Alongside the technical layers, we map the organisational controls and the compliance requirements the infrastructure has to meet, with alternatives at every major decision.

What we design

gap, risk and integration analysis; a modular target architecture across all layers; alternative paths for each key decision.

What we produce

A target architecture with options, balancing security, flexibility and cost to you.

04 Deliverables

Your implementation plan, written for your organisation and ready to act on

Everything comes together as The Vault Blueprint. If you build with us, we already know what to build; if you take time, compare the market or phase the rollout, the roadmap is still yours.

What we design

The Vault Blueprint, your infrastructure plan; a phased implementation roadmap with alternatives; a provider evaluation framework.

What we produce

An infrastructure plan you own, ready to act on with us or independently.

04 The Vault Blueprint

The Vault Blueprint

A report delivered as a document and an editable slide set, mapping your target infrastructure and showing exactly how it fits the systems you already run.

01

Deployment diagram

how the infrastructure is deployed inside your perimeter.

02

Hardware and cloud specifications

where each is required.

03

Modular software specification

back office, custody, wallet infrastructure and connectivity.

04

Current to target mapping

technical and operational, as-is against to-be.

05

Gap and risk register

where today's setup falls short, and what it exposes.

06

Phased roadmap and our proposal

sequenced delivery with alternatives, and our proposal to close the gaps, including the staff, timeline and cost of implementation.

05 Who works on the engagement

Who works on the engagement

Every engagement is staffed by a small, senior team drawn from across The Vault Institute, combining infrastructure architecture, cryptography, regulatory expertise and solutions engineering in a single, coordinated group that works alongside you from scoping through to delivery.

01 Engagement Lead

the infrastructure architect who owns the engagement end to end.

02 Security Lead

architecture review, threat modelling and controls.

03 Infrastructure Lead

deployment, hardware and hosting design.

04 Cryptography Research Lead

MPC, key management and post-quantum advisory.

05 Regulatory and Compliance Advisor

jurisdiction-specific regulatory and licensing guidance.

Named team members are confirmed at engagement kick-off.

06 Rigorous and fast

How we keep a four to six week engagement both rigorous and fast

Interviews are captured against a prepared question set built to draw out the full picture, everything we gather is consolidated, mapped and analysed in one place, jurisdiction, regulatory and product research is run systematically rather than ad hoc, and the drafting of the report and diagrams starts from our own templates and design system. Every output is reviewed and signed off by the senior team before it reaches you.

  1. 01

    Pilot, two weeks, complimentary

custody, approvals, compliance and integrations run the way you would in production, with our engineers alongside.

  2. 02

Choose your model, on your terms

in-house (on-premise), cloud, or white-label Crypto-as-a-Service under our regulated licence.

  3. 03

    Deploy, built to the plan

we already know what to build, because you designed it with us.
