Meet Bryn Bennett, our new Chief Revenue Officer
The Vault is expanding its work with financial institutions, and our commercial effort now has a dedicated leader. Bryn Bennett has joined as Chief Revenue Officer, responsible for growing The Vault's business with banks, brokers, asset managers and payments providers that want to put digital assets to work on infrastructure they control.
Bryn joins us from Hacken, where as Head of Business Strategy Bryn worked with exchanges, custodians and other digital asset businesses whose buying decisions turned on security and regulation. Earlier, Bryn led business development for Secret Network, the first blockchain with privacy-preserving smart contracts, and spent five years in product development, taking more than 300 products to market.
We asked Bryn a few questions instead of writing the usual press release.
You've spent years working with digital asset businesses on security. What drew you to The Vault?
Working in blockchain security convinced me that security is the foundation of lasting adoption, and institutions are now at the point where their digital asset plans depend on it. The Vault gives them the infrastructure to hold, manage and move digital assets while keeping control over their keys, their transaction approvals and where the platform runs, whether that is in the cloud or entirely within their own infrastructure. Having worked alongside the team before joining, I had a good sense of how seriously they take that, and institutional ambition needs infrastructure that can deliver it.
At Hacken, security and regulation were often central to the buying decision. What did that teach you about how institutions buy?
A decision like this is rarely made by one person. It passes through technology, risk, compliance and the business, and each of them needs a different part of the argument before they are comfortable signing off. My approach has always been to understand what the client needs to build or protect, and then make the technical case clear to everyone making the decision. Frameworks such as DORA, NIS2 and MiCA add another layer, and a good deal of my work has been translating those requirements into commercial proposals that an institution can act on.
You recently won a hackathon prize as a solo developer. How technical can clients expect their conversations with you to be?
As technical as they need. I built GhostName, an open privacy layer for ENS, at Common S3nse in Amsterdam this year, and I still enjoy getting into the detail of how keys, signing and infrastructure actually work. It matters in this role because security has to keep pace with everything a client builds, and every new integration, upgrade or permission changes their exposure. When a CTO or a security lead wants to test our architecture, I want to be able to have that conversation properly before bringing in our engineers.
You've been a founder, a product developer and an enterprise seller. How does that combination shape the way you approach growth?
Product development taught me to start from what the customer is trying to achieve and work backwards from there. Building Secret Network's ecosystem meant explaining genuinely new technology to people who needed convincing that it was worth their time, which is excellent training for any complex sale. Running my own studio, BizDev Studio, then showed me how much AI can do inside a revenue team, from research and account intelligence to CRM operations and prioritisation, and I intend to bring that discipline to The Vault.
What will you be focusing on at The Vault?
Growing our business with financial institutions, which covers go-to-market planning, account strategy, outbound campaigns, strategic partnerships and building out the sales team. The aim is to make the path from a first conversation to a live deployment as clear and quick as possible for our clients.
How do institutions reach you?
If you are a bank, broker, asset manager or payments provider building your digital asset offering, I would like to talk. Book a call with me via this link, or find me on LinkedIn
